In February 2015, the RTF approved the allocation of resources to develop a New Homes Standard Protocol. This standard protocol is related to NEEA's Next Step Homes Program. This subcommittee was formed to support the development of the standard protocol. This standard protocol was adopted at the December 2016 RTF Meeting, with a sunset date of December 31, 2019.

Draft Protocol   Modeling Guidelines Document

The New Homes Standard Protocol aims to provide a simplified method for estimating reliable savings with site-specific energy modeling for efficient new homes. The RTF reviewed the draft protocol framework at its November 2016 meeting . The RTF gave a head nod on the direction, including the baseline approach, uncertainty characteristics, and general research needs. Staff  used comments compiled from this subcommittee to inform the final proposed materials at the December 2016 RTF meeting.
